Candidates for the Vice President of Supply Chain role must be highly process oriented and data-driven and have direct experience managing complex logistics projects. The VP of Supply Chain will report directly to one of the founders and Co-CEOs of Warby Parker and become a critical member of our collaborative management team, working closely with our Director of Operations, Manager of Product Strategy, Director of Customer Experience, VP of Technology, and CFO.

As VP of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the strategy and operations to support our complex product flows throughout the product lifecycle. These responsibilities include working directly with the raw materials and component manufacturers of our high-quality frames, managing costs and logistics of our innovative Home Try-On program, and managing fulfillment and quality of a product line where more than 80% of sales require on-demand customization. What you'll do:

  • Manage relationships with and performance of our existing frame, lens and raw materials suppliers and logistics vendors, and assess new potential additions to our supplier base
  • Generate, implement and execute strategies to effectively manage demand planning and forecasting, and inventory and supply planning for both our for-sale and Home Try-On product
  • Oversee and continually improve purchasing with respect to the company’s quality, delivery and cost objectives
  • Oversee product development timelines and production schedules
  • Manage warehousing and distribution of our products among various fulfillment centers
  • Manage relationships with and monitor performance of our logistics and fulfillment partners; oversee development of systems and processes to continually improve performance
  • Collaborate with management team to ensure all aspects of product supply chain, including quality control, are well developed and maintained throughout product lifecycle to ensure a superior customer experience and a high level of efficiency
  • Advise finance and marketing of variances between existing forecasts, plans and actuals
  • Develop and execute strategies to ensure sufficient capacity and redundancy exist at each stage of our global supply chain
  • Assess feasibility of building in-house logistics and fulfillment capabilities; lead development of initiatives as selected

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or other technical discipline. MBA desired. Certification in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience within manufacturing/supply chain; experience in supply chain line management/leadership
  • Experience designing/redesigning supply chain processes and programs to build capacity and/or increase efficiency
  • 5+ years of e-commerce and supervisory experience preferred
  • Eyewear industry experience not required
