As Retail Store Manager of our first brick and mortar store you will be integral in laying the foundation for Warby Parker’s retail business.  All aspects of the store’s success rest on your shoulders.  This includes 1) building a team of exceptional associates, 2) executing processes and procedures that help us to consistently provide amazing customer service, and 3) ensuring that the store exceeds defined financial performance targets.   You will report to the Director of Retail and be responsible for the following:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Understand and communicate Warby Parker’s values and brand philosophy to customers and staff
  • Recruit great people wherever they might be, interview them, and select individuals that live our core values and will stop at nothing to serve our customers
  • Provide initial and frequent ongoing training and development for all team members
  • Manage daily scheduling, time off, and payroll matters for all store associates
  • Develop, execute, and continuously improve all operational activities to ensure the store exceeds financial and customer experience targets and maintains brand consistency
  • Coordinate periodic store events with Warby Parker marketing team
  • Develop and ensure procedures are followed to protect the company’s inventory and assets as well as all activities related to risk management and safety

Qualifications

You should bring a solid foundation of store management experience, as well as the education and skills necessary for exceptional leadership, including:

  • You have extensive sales and sales management experience with a customer-focused, operationally excellent retailer, along with an established record of high personal performance
  • You are innovative, proactive, entrepreneurial and a team player
  • You like to have lots of fun at work but are not afraid of putting in long hours when required
  • You are excited about building and managing a high performing retail team
  • You have experience with operational and financial performance management

Compensation

We will compensate you at competitive startup rates. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, cell phone and gym reimbursement.
