Site Reliability Engineer

We’re looking to hire a Site Reliability Engineer with a thorough understanding of all components of a modern web application stack, including front-end, networking, and systems level knowledge. What you'll do:

• Architect, manage, and scale our production web architecture, including a world class e-commerce website
• Install, configure, and administer systems supporting our internal and external web servers (Apache, Nginx) and web appliations (PHP, Java)
• Provide automation and provisioning through the use of Puppet and MCollective
• Administer and manage MySQL database servers and a MySQL database cluster
• Monitor systems and applications
• Conduct proactive/preventive systems administration and maintenance
• Write amazing documentation
• Provide on-call support for production operations

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of relevant work experience
• 3+ years of experience administering Linux-based production systems (preferably CentOS or RHEL)
• Advanced understanding of Internet-related applications (Web Servers, Proxies, e-mail, FTP, DNS, etc.)
• Solid understanding of scripting languages (Shell, Bash, PERL, or Ruby preferred)
• Ability to lift hardware weighing 50 pounds or more
• Possess outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Willingness to gain and share knowledge
• Experience working with other operating systems (Windows and Mac OS)
• Experience setting up distributed LAMP Stacks
• Basic networking experience including network systems troubleshooting
• Database administration experience (MySQL preferred)

Extra credit:

• Understanding of web based caching, CDN and/or front end caches - Akamai experience is a plus!
